A Day at the Zoo

At the "Ghost of the Bayou"
This elephant sprays water out it's nose!

We went to the Zoo last week! My mom wanted to take the grandkids (that live in UT) so me and Lincoln and Brett, Alisa and Carter, and Collin went. Some of the other family had to work so they couldn't make it. It was fun and not to crowded now that kids are back in school. I hadn't been to Hogle Zoo in a long time and they have really made it nice! With the new Elephant Encounter and the new Asian Highlands with the cats. Oh and the new Conservation Carousel which was Lincoln's favorite thing. I think the little boys had fun. The Zoo is currently trying to raise money so they can redo the bears and add polar bears. We were lucky enough to by-pass the reptile house..... ugg! Fun Fact: Did you know that the Albino Aligator rarely lives for more than day after it is born... why is that? Because it is white it burns in the sun and dies. So maybe not a "fun" fact but something interesting I learned.

Lincoln is Number 1!

More picture from the party... we washed him off in the sink from the messy cake! And the video is a little long but I posted it anyway for those who want to watch.

Party Time!

Saturday we had a little family shin-dig celebrating Lincoln's birthday. It was a pizza party, with a little game called "How well do you know Lincoln" I put questions on there like "what time was he born? what's his favorite food? His favorite toy? ect..." The one who got the most right won a prize. Just a short game. Jordan also made this great video with pictures through the year, but it wouldn't play in our DVD player! I was bummed! Of course we did the one year old cake thing. He was reluctant at first and didn't like the frosting on his fingers. He eventually started eating but very carefully. He got some nice toys and clothes and books from his loved ones, and his Aunt Cassie made that very cute cake! Oh and the movie at the botton only 3 min. it's shorter than I thought.

A look at Lincoln (unfortunantly not in order)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINCOLN

Well, Lincoln is 1 today! He was born at 5:00 pm exactly, c-section. Here is the video of them closeing me up while I hold Lincoln for the first time. He weighed 7lb 7oz. I can't believe it's been a year! Yesterday it hit me and I was trying not to cry at work ( I don't know why it's emotional for me, but it is) I held it in until I got home and as soon as Jordan hugged me hello it all came out. Which freaked him out until I was able to get out " my baby is 1" then he laughed (but still hugged me). So a little about Lincoln, he was good baby who slept through the night at 4 months. He started crawling at 8months but could already stand by then. He started walking on his own at 11months. He's a very good eater (that's how we enticed him to crawl). He loves to stare at your mouth while you eat and check your ears (maybe he'll be a ear, nose and throat doctor. He loves to fake laugh, snort, spit, roll his tongue talk and make all kinds of noices all day long. He loves to sleep with his snoopy dog and recently became attached to a plasic juice cup that he must always be holding. He can say momma and dadda and can sign "more" and "please" and understands the sign "all done" which he doesn't like when dinner is over. He also loves to chase and wrestle dad around the house. He is being a good boy today and letting me type on the computer. We're throwing a birthday party for him on Saturday. Here are some pictures of him through the year. Happy Birthday son! we love you!

August Rush out Fast!

Well, August came and went ridiculously fast! A little bit of a months over view before I get to the real point of today.
First week of August my brother Brett and his family, moved from Magna to Nephi, despite what you might think, it is an upgrade. Don't worry I'm not being rude, we joke about that stuff all the time. I'm going to miss them terribly because they only use to be 15min away and our boys are the same age so it worked at great for play dates and babysitting! But I have made it down there twice so far!
August 23- We went up to Idaho for Jordan's sister McKenzie's wedding. It was outside and very pretty and done well, but also very HOT! I was burnt out mentally and physically by the time it was done. It was such a short trip and Lincoln's first long car ride that I didn't take any pictures. I didn't need one more bag to be lugging around! I'm sure we'll get some anyway from the bride.
Labor Day weekend- Just relaxed, visited family and did some shopping. We had thought of going camping or the Zoo or the Fair, but when it came down to it our friends Bryan and Jesenia were in need of some good R&R like we were so we just got some food and veg'd at our house. It was fun, their little girl Seneca is almost 3 and is good at being the "big friend" to Lincoln.
So that kind of brings you up to date with us.
Books read- 3 Eclispe, Breaking Dawn, and started "Eldest" by Christopher Paloni
Movies Watched- hmmm... 4. Loved Definantly Maybe and Penelopy, Liked P.S. I love you and Sisterhood of Traveling Pants. (Jordan works nights so I get a good dose of chick flicks in)
Projects- Just finished tiling one wall in my master bath, we are adding some glass mosiacs above the mirror to "spruce" it up.... I did that this morning while Lincoln was sleeping. Now to add a new light fixture and some trim. I'll post picture.
